Mr. Acosta was a New York City police officer and undercover investigator from 1990 to 2000. From 1989-1990 he was a Civilian Criminal Investigator for the internal affairs unit of the NYC Department of Corrections. From 1987-1989 he served as a criminal investigator for the United States Customs Service. From 1980 to 1986, he served in the United States Army as an E-4 Specialist in Communications and Intelligence, both in the United States and in Europe.
